Josip Milkovic

Josip "Cos" Milković (born October 30, 1942 in Zagreb ) is a Croatian handball coach and former handball player .

As a player Milković was from 1957 to 1973 with RK Medveščak Zagreb . With the team he was Yugoslav champions in 1964 and 1965 and cup winners in 1965 and 1970. In 1965 he was with the team in the final of the European Cup , where Zagreb was defeated by Dinamo Bucharest with 13:11. For Yugoslavia Milković played 103 internationals in which he threw 310 goals. At the 1970 World Cup he won the bronze medal with Yugoslavia. At the 1964 World Cup, together with Andreas Fenyő and Hans Moser, he was the top scorer with 32 goals each.

After his active time he trained among other things RK Medveščak and then moved to the handball Bundesliga . There he coached SG Dietzenbach , VfL Günzburg , MTSV Schwabing , Bayer Leverkusen and in 1989 THW Kiel . In 2000 Milković became the coach of the Croatian national team .
