Josseline Louise Marie da Silva Gbony

Josseline Louise Marie da Silva Gbony (born October 25, 1957 ) is a Beninese diplomat. She has been the Beninese ambassador in Berlin and Germany since January 5, 2017 .

Silva Gbony studied diplomacy and international relations at the National School of Administration from 1979 to 1982 . She then joined the Benin Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Cotonou . 1983 to 1984 she was responsible for Chinese cooperation projects. Then from 1984 to 1992 she was the head of cultural projects that were carried out in cooperation with France . From 1987 to 1992 she was head of the Immunity and Privilege Department. From 1992 to 1997 she was then head of the department for operational UN activities. From 1997 to 2000 she was head of the legal department, where she was specifically responsible for negotiations and succession arrangements at the headquarters. In the same period from 1997 to 1998 she studied diplomacy and international relations at the Institut international d'administration publique . In January 2000 she was sent to Brussels as an embassy counselor. In this post, which she held until July 2009, she was responsible for maintaining contact with the EU . She then returned to Benin and was head of the programming and planning department until 2012. From 2012 to 2013 she was head of the Africa and Middle East department. In October 2016 she was sent to Berlin as an ambassador. In addition to Germany, she is also Benin's ambassador for Poland , the Czech Republic , Slovakia and Romania . She is also a permanent representative for the UN headquarters in Bonn and for the International Court of Justice for the Law of the Sea in Hamburg .

Silva Gbony speaks French and English . She is married and has two kids.
