Jost Beilken
Jost Beilken (born July 25, 1955 in Essen ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ).
biography
education and profession
Beilken attended a grammar school in Bremerhaven and then learned the trade of a machine fitter . He then studied pedagogy . He has been based in Bremen for over 25 years and was mainly active in adult education. He is currently a freelance pedagogical employee at two primary schools in the Bremen area.
politics
Beilken was involved in left-wing initiatives. He joined the WASG in 2004 .
Even before the WASG joined the Linkspartei.PDS and renamed the Die Linke party, he was elected to Bremen's citizenship for the Linkspartei.PDS in May 2007 , to which he belonged until 2011. Beilken was his parliamentary group's spokesman for education and culture. He was in the committees for federal and European affairs, international contacts and development cooperation, hospitals in the municipality of Bremen, hospitals, ports, information and communication technology and media affairs, science and research, budget and finance, auditing, in the petitions committee, in the temporary committee implementation of Federalism Reform II in the state of Bremen, in the state advisory board for sport, in the works committees KiTa Bremen, music school Bremen, city library Bremen and Bremen adult education center as well as in the deputations for culture and for education.
