Jost Beilken (born July 25, 1955 in Essen ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ).

education and profession

Beilken attended a grammar school in Bremerhaven and then learned the trade of a machine fitter . He then studied pedagogy . He has been based in Bremen for over 25 years and was mainly active in adult education. He is currently a freelance pedagogical employee at two primary schools in the Bremen area.

politics

Beilken was involved in left-wing initiatives. He joined the WASG in 2004 .

Even before the WASG joined the Linkspartei.PDS and renamed the Die Linke party, he was elected to Bremen's citizenship for the Linkspartei.PDS in May 2007 , to which he belonged until 2011. Beilken was his parliamentary group's spokesman for education and culture.
