Journal 1870/71

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Journal 1870/71 was a seven-part television series by Süddeutscher Rundfunk from 1970.

The course of the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71 was described in chronological order in the style of a newsreel. Other contemporary events, such as the construction of the railway on the Rigi and the death of Robert E. Lee , were also woven in.

The foreign correspondents of the ARD and the moderators of the political magazines at that time presented themselves or their fictitious predecessors in the same function. Fictitious Swiss news programs were also integrated in the same way. The first episode was broadcast on July 27, 1970.
