Jozef Valachovič (born July 12, 1975 in Bratislava ) is a former Slovak football player .

Life

His strengths include the two-legged ability, the pronounced header game and the positional play. He is also a successful penalty taker . Valachovič can be used in central defense and defensive midfield .

From 2005 to 2007 the Slovak team defender played for the Austrian record champions SK Rapid Wien . In the 2004/05 season he was Austrian champion with Rapid . His probably most important goal he scored on August 23, 2005 in the game between Lokomotiv Moscow and Rapid Vienna (final score 0: 1). This goal enabled Rapid to move into the main round of the 2005/06 UEFA Champions League , in which he missed the important penalty in the first group game to make it 1-1 against Bayern (final score 0: 1). In May 2007, the Slovak central defender moved from Rapid to the Lower Austrian club ASK Schwadorf in the second division, where he played for a season. From the season 2008/09 Valachovič joined the Slovak first division club ŠK Slovan Bratislava . From summer 2010 to autumn 2012 he played again in Austria and acted as player-coach in the Lower Austrian regional league south south east at FK Hainburg. There he resigned from his position as head coach at the beginning of September and was then employed in the Czech Republic as an assistant coach at 1. FK Dukla Pribram. In mid-2014, he moved to Slovan Liberec in the same position.
