Juškonys is a place in the administrative district Žeimiai of the Rajongemeinde Jonava in the Kaunas district ( Lithuania ). The village is on the KK232 trunk road ( Vilijampolė - Žeimiai - Šėta ), seven kilometers north of the town of Žeimiai, five kilometers from Šėta. Juškonys is the center of the sub-district of the same name. There is a library, post office and cultural center in the village.
history
In 1923 there were 178 inhabitants. From 1950 to 1992 Juškonys was a central kolkhoz settlement in Jonava Rajon in Soviet Lithuania . During the Soviet era , the cultural facilities (such as library and cultural center) were built. Since 1995 the village belongs to the administrative district Žeimiai . In 2011 there were 385 inhabitants.
primary school
In 1922 the elementary school was established by the farmer J. Petrusevičius (Atkočius). From 1924 the rooms were rented from the farmer Jonas Petrauskas (Bitininkas). From 1925 to 1929 around 40–50 students studied. In 1970 the Juškonys primary school was closed and reopened in 1989. In September 2005 it was removed from the register as an independent school (legal entity). The Juškonys department of the Jonava Elementary School has existed since 2007 .
