Juan Carlos Bertone († 1938 ) was a Uruguayan football player and coach.

Player career

Defender Bertone played at club level at least in 1906, 1907, 1909 and 1910 for the Montevideo Wanderers who were playing in the Primera División during those years . In 1906 and 1909 the Wanderers named with the Bohemios won the Uruguayan championship and was one of the key players on the team. He later emigrated to Brazil, where he worked in the soccer field in the 1910s and early 1920s.

National team

Bertone was a member of the Uruguayan senior team . From his debut on October 21, 1906 as part of the Copa Newton to his last appearance on August 15, 1910 at the Copa Lipton , he completed eleven international matches, according to the RSSSF . He scored an international goal. He was also used in the unofficial international match against Argentina on April 30, 1911. He took with Celeste at the Copa Centenario Revolución de Mayo designated World Grand Prix 1910 in part. In 1910 he won the Copa Lipton with Uruguay.

Coaching

Bertone coached the Chilean national team at the South American Championships in 1920 and 1922 .

In honor of Bertone, the Club social y deportivo Juan Carlos Bertone was founded in Villa Alemana on February 9, 1940 .
