Player career

The Guitar Rita called from Durazno Dating Píriz was the nephew of Juan Píriz and father of Willy Píriz . He played at the club from 1928 to 1945 for Club Atlético Defensor . He is also included in the winning team that won the Torneo Honor in 1947 . For the Violetas he scored 98 goals in 346 games, making him the most successful player in terms of number of games and the third most successful player in Defensors history in terms of absolute hits, ahead of Alberto Santelli (147 games / 92 goals). He thus achieved an average of 0.24 hits per game. The Defensors website even speaks of more than 500 games that Píríz played in both amateur and professional football.

National team

The right winger was a member of the Uruguayan national soccer team . Overall, he completed for these 14 international matches in the period from August 30, 1928 to October 12, 1938, in which he met five times in the opposing goal. As a success he recorded the tournament victory at the Campeonato Sudamericano in 1935 in his success statistics. In 1928 he was used at both the Copa Newton and the Copa Lipton . In 1930 Píriz made another appearance at the Copa Newton and also at the Campeonato Sudamericano in Argentina in 1937 , he was part of the Uruguayan squad and played four games there.

Coaching

At least 1951 Píriz also worked as a coach at Defensor.
