Juan Ignacio González (born July 8, 1984 in Guadalajara , Jalisco ) is a Mexican football player on the position of defender .

career

González began his professional career in 2004 with his hometown club Atlas Guadalajara , for which he never came to a professional assignment. Because during his more than four years with the Rojinegros he played exclusively on loan; initially for his farm team Coyotes de Sonora and Académicos de Guadalajara and later for Atlético Celaya and the league competitor Tecos de la UAG (including his reserve team Tecos UAG Zapopan).

In the summer of 2008 González was then sold to Querétaro FC and immediately won the second division championship of the Apertura 2008 with the Gallos Blancos, as well as the championship for the entire 2008/09 season in the following summer, which enabled promotion to the first division .

In the winter of 2009/10 he was then sold to the then second division Club León . With the Esmeraldas he won the second division championship of the Clausura in 2012 and then the promotion final of the 2011/12 season , which González was allowed to celebrate for the second time promotion to the top division.

His most successful season with the Esmeraldas was the 2013/14 season , in which he won both championships with Club León and thus became Mexican champions twice in a row. González scored goals in both final pairings.

In the final second leg of Apertura 2013 (after a 2-0 home win against Club América ) in the second leg at the Aztec Stadium, he first scored an own goal to make it 1-1 before he took the lead again with the goal to make it 2-1. The game ended 3-1 for León.

González scored another goal in the final second leg of the Clausura 2014, but this time it was much more important than the goal against America. After León lost the first leg to CF Pachuca 2: 3, they saved themselves in the second leg with a 1-0 win at the Estadio Hidalgo in extra time . González then scored the decisive goal to win the title in the 111th minute.
