Juan Manuel "Juanma" Ortiz Palazón (born March 1, 1982 in Guardamar del Segura , Valencia ) is a Spanish football player who has been under contract with Hércules Alicante since 2013 .

Player career

The beginnings

Ortiz started his career as a footballer in the youth of Atlético Madrid , for whose B-Team he was in the Segunda División B from 2001 to 2003 . In the summer of 2003 he signed a professional contract with the "Rojiblancos", but there he only played five times in his first season, which is why he was loaned to first division rival CA Osasuna . There he came to occasional missions - but in 29 missions with two goals he was unable to prevail.

The last few years

For the 2006/07 season Ortiz was loaned to the second division Polideportivo Ejido . There he scored eight goals in 31 games and was able to attract the attention of the competition. Since it had already been awarded by Atlético for three years, the "Colchoneros" had to decide for or against Ortiz 'continued employment. But since the club upgraded its own midfield with players like Simao Sabrosa , it was given to the first division promoted UD Almería . There he was able to earn a regular place in the first division straight away.

Move to Scotland

In the summer of 2011 Ortiz moved to the Scottish record champions, the Glasgow Rangers . After the first half of the season, the Rangers announced that Ortiz would be loaned out to his previous employer, Almería, until the end of the season.

Following this loan deal, the Spanish first division club Granada FC signed Ortiz.
