Judith Herczig

Judith Herczig (born April 11, 1976 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian- born Austrian table tennis player. She took part in world championships six times .

Often the first name is also written as Judit (without "h").

Career

Judith Herczig started her career in Hungary. Under the Hungarian TT Association, the European Junior Championship started in 1993 in Ljubljana, where she won the doubles title with Katalin Harsanyi and with the team.

In 1995 she left Hungary and joined the Austrian association Union Oberndorf. In 1996 she moved to UTTV Pinkafeld, later she played for SV Schwechat in the state league, from 2011 for SVS Ströck, where she is now (2012) vice-president.

Judith Herczig soon took on Austrian citizenship. In the late 1990s and early 2000s she was one of Austria's leading players. In the national ranking list she took second place in 1999/2000 and in December 2003. In 2003 and 2004 she won the Austrian championship in singles . In the years before, she was second six times, in 1997 behind Petra Fichtinger , from 1998 to 2002 behind Liu Jia .

From 1997 to 2004 she took part in world championships six times , in 1998 , 2000 , 2002 and 2003 she was nominated for European championships. It did not come close to medal ranks. In 2000 she qualified for participation in the Summer Olympics .

After 2004, she stopped performing internationally and took on official duties. So she became a ladies' assistant in the Lower Austrian table tennis association NÖTTV. In 2008 she trained the youth at the UTTC-Stockerau club.

Private

Judith Herczig and her partner Roland Regnemer have a son (* 2010).
