Judith Glück (born July 15, 1969 in Munich ) is an Austrian psychologist and wisdom researcher . Since 2007 she has been Head of Chair for Developmental Psychology at the University of Klagenfurt .

life and work

Glück studied psychology at the University of Vienna , graduated in 1995 and obtained her doctorate in natural sciences in 1999 . From 1995 to 1999 she was a university assistant at the University of Vienna, and from 2000 to 2002 a postdoctoral research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin , where she conducted research with Paul B. Baltes , among others . In 2001 she completed her habilitation in psychology at the University of Vienna.

Judith Glück is the daughter of Wolfgang Glück . She is married to the cognitive scientist Oliver Vitouch .

research

Judith Glück's research focuses on various areas of developmental psychology , in particular on research into wisdom . Further research topics are the development of spatial thinking , lifelong development and lifelong learning , self and identity in life review and methods of developmental psychology, e.g. B. Item response models for longitudinal data .

Since 2008 Judith Glück has headed the Wisdom project funded by the FWF and the University of Chicago . She is also often active as a reviewer for scientific journals, publishers and organizations.
