Judith Liere

Judith Liere (* 1979 ) is a German journalist and writer .

Life

Judith Liere studied German , theater studies and Italian literature in Marburg , Florence and Hamburg . After completing her studies, she initially worked for three years as a dramaturgy assistant at the Burgtheater in Vienna . During this time Liere wrote texts for the online page Jetzt.de of the Süddeutsche Zeitung and NEON . In the following years Liere wrote as a columnist for UniSPIEGEL and was also featured on the cover of one of the issues.

Liere graduated from the German School of Journalism in Munich. She then worked for the Süddeutsche Zeitung , first as a culture reporter in the Munich department, then as a Berlin correspondent for the Panorama department. She was also a regular Streiflicht author. Her column Dreißignochwas appeared in 2013/2014 in the weekend section of the Süddeutsche Zeitung.

From 2014 to 2016 Judith Liere was an editor at NEON magazine. She has been working in Stern's cultural department since 2016, and as department head since 2018. Judith Liere writes on subjects from the fields of literature, travel, society and film.

In 2017 she spent two months in the USA and Canada as an Arthur F. Burns Fellowship recipient .
