Judith Merkle Riley
Judith Astria Merkle (born January 14, 1942 in Livermore , † September 12, 2010 ) was an American writer.
Life
Her great-uncle was the famous baseball player Fred Merkle, her father - Theodore Charles Merkle - ran Project Pluto, and her brother Ralph C. Merkle is a pioneer in asymmetric cryptography and a researcher and spokesman for molecular nanotechnology and cryonics.
Riley holds a PhD from the University of California at Berkeley . She was a lecturer in political science at Claremont MCKenna College and the Claremont Graduate School of California. Judith Merkle Riley was married and a mother of two. From 1988 to 2007 she wrote six historical novels .
