Helga Schnabel-Schüle

Helga Schnabel-Schüle (born April 19, 1954 in Düsseldorf ) is a German historian .

Helga Schnabel-Schüle studied history, German literature and politics in Marburg and Tübingen from 1972 to 1977 . In 1984 she did her doctorate with a thesis on church leadership and church visits in the south-west of Germany. In 1991 she completed her habilitation in Tübingen with a thesis from case to case. Conditions and effects of the system of criminal sanctions in early modern Württemberg . This was followed by substitute professorships for modern history in Bochum (1992/93) and in Tübingen (1994/1995). Since 1995 she has been teaching as a professor for modern history at the University of Trier . From 1998 to 2002 she was Vice President of the University of Trier. Her main research interests are the history of religion, legal history and gender history.
