Youth information in Austria

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Youth information in Austria has been a concern of youth work and youth welfare since the 1970s . In Austria , the first youth information centers were founded in the 1970s, in which young people can obtain information on topics such as Europe, work, education and leisure according to their specific needs.

History and development of youth information in Austria

The first youth information centers emerged in Austria at the beginning of the 1970s. At this time, the first international meetings and conferences on youth information took place. While hundreds of information points opened in Europe at the beginning of the 1980s, the centers in Austria were closed. It was not until 1985 that a (mobile) youth information center was founded again. Over the next few years, the several youth information centers merged and began building a national information network. This was followed by the establishment of a working group of Austrian Youth Information and the creation of the first European Youth Information Charter by ERYICA . With the association jugendinfo.cc , there has been a national support structure for youth information in Austria since 2004. At the end of 2010, the association ARGE Österreichische Jugendinfos, for short: jugendinfo.cc, changed its name to the Bundesnetzwerk Österreichische Jugendinfos, for short: Austrian Youth Info .
