The youth chamber choir Ingolstadt eV is a youth choir from Ingolstadt , whose focus is on a cappella music.

development

The choir was founded in 1982 by music teacher Felix Glombitza. The aim was to give young people from the region the opportunity to experience the choir singing at an early age. Since then the choir has consisted of pupils, students and employees.

In 1990, the management of the ensemble was passed on to the then school music student Eva-Maria Atzerodt (herself a choir member since 1983). In 1991 she converted the youth chamber choir into a registered association, which continued to successfully take part in national and international choir competitions. In order to secure the next generation of choirs, Eva-Maria Atzerodt founded the “Ingolstädter Nachtigallen” in 1991, which to this day make a significant contribution to the fact that the Ingolstadt Youth Chamber Choir can accept new members. In 1995, Mrs. Atzerodt founded the “Incanto corale” choir to give long-time youth chamber choir members and others who are used to performing choral music at a high musical level an opportunity to pursue their musical skills almost professionally. This created an interlocking network of musical and vocal education around the youth chamber choir, from which the city of Ingolstadt benefits culturally.

For the twentieth anniversary in 2002, the "Association of Friends of the Youth Chamber Choir" was brought into being in order to be able to give the choir a financial support. This association now has more than 60 members, most of whom in addition to their membership fees also take on supporting activities at concerts and other events.
