The 1948/49 season was the eighth season of the Yugoslav Ice Hockey League , the highest Yugoslav ice hockey league . Champion was for the second time in the history of the KHL Mladost Zagreb club .

In the main round, the league was divided into three groups with three participants each. The teams in group A played the championship title among themselves, while the teams in group B played for fourth place and the teams in group C for seventh place. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
