Jules Calame
Jules Calame (born January 20, 1852 in La Chaux-de-Fonds , † August 10, 1912 in Bad Nauheim ) was a liberal politician in the Swiss canton of Neuchâtel . He studied humanities in Neuchâtel and attended the commercial college in Mulhouse . He took over his father's watch factory, but from 1891 only performed public tasks. He held the following political mandates:
- 1888–1891 and 1903–1912: General Council ( legislature ) in La Chaux-de-Fonds
- 1889–1912: Grand Council
- 1895–1912: National Councilor , member of the Finance Commission
Jules Calame made important contributions to the conclusion of commercial contracts.
