Julião Neto

Julião de Miranda Henriques Neto (born August 16, 1981 in Belém , Pará state ) is a Brazilian amateur boxer and flyweight Olympic competitor in 2012 .

Boxing career

He became Brazilian champion in 2002, 2008, 2011 and 2012. At the Pan American Championships he won gold in 2010, silver in 2008, and bronze in 2011 and 2013. At the South American Games he won gold in 2014 and silver in 2010. He is also a silver medalist at the 2010 World Military Championships in the USA.

In 2012 he took part in the American Olympic qualification in Brazil, defeating Johan Vargas from Colombia, Yefferson Pérez from Venezuela and José Meza from Ecuador, before being eliminated in the final against Jeyvier Cintrón from Puerto Rico. He was then able to participate in the 2012 Olympic Games in London , beat Pak Jong-chol in the preliminary round , but was eliminated again in the second round against Jeyvier Cintrón. At the 2016 Olympic Games, he was defeated in the first fight against the American Antonio Vargas.
