Julia Ducournau

Julia Ducournau (born November 18, 1983 in Paris ) is a French director and screenwriter .

Life

Ducournau graduated from the Paris Film School La Fémis in 2008 . She worked as a story editor and script consultant on her film productions. In 2011 she made her first short film Junior . For this she worked with the actress Garance Marillier . Junior was awarded the Youth Jury Prize at the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen 2012 . Her horror film Raw , again starring Garance Marillier, premiered at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival .

In 2021 Ducournau completed her second feature film, Titane . She received the Palme d'Or at the 74th Cannes Film Festival for the fantasy drama starring Vincent Lindon and Agathe Rousselle .
