Julia Heesen

Julia Heesen (born July 12, 1976 in Lüneburg ) is a German lawyer and political officer . Since March 4, 2020 she has been State Secretary in the Thuringian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport .

Life

Heesen put 1995 her Abitur at school Warstade and completed as a result a study of law at the Technical University of Dresden (1996-1998) and the Humboldt University of Berlin (1998-2002). After the first state examination in law (2002), she initially worked as an employee in the scientific service of the German Bundestag (2002) and in a law firm (2002–2003). From 2003 to 2007 she worked as a research assistant at the chair of Eberhard Schmidt-Aßmann at the Institute for German and European Administrative Law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . During this time, she completed a doctoral degree there. After Heesen completed her legal clerkship at the Frankfurt am Main regional court from 2007 to 2010 , completed her doctorate in Heidelberg in 2009 and passed her second state examination in 2010, she was a judge at the Kassel Social Court from June 2010 .

After being seconded to the Federal Constitutional Court of Gabriele Britz (2012-2014), Heesen worked at the Wiesbaden Social Court from 2015 to 2017 , before being seconded to the Thuringian State Chancellery in July 2017 . As part of the formation of the Ramelow II cabinet , she was appointed State Secretary in the Thuringian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport on March 4, 2020 by Minister Helmut Holter . She thus succeeded Gabi Ohler .
