Julia Weber (* 1983 in Moshi , Tanzania ) is a Swiss writer .

Life

Julia Weber was born in 1983 in Moshi, Tanzania, where her parents rented a farm and organized safaris. In 1985 the family returned to Zurich , where the parents now run an organic shop. After completing his apprenticeship as a photo specialist and graduating from high school, Weber studied literary writing at the Swiss Literature Institute in Biel from 2009 to 2012 . Julia Weber lives with her husband, the German writer Heinz Helle , and their child in Zurich.

In 2012 she founded the literature service , with which she offers literary documentaries typed on a Hermes Baby during events such as weddings and birthday parties. With Gianna Molinari she founded the art action group Literature for What Happens , which has teamed up with other authors to help people on the move with their writing. In 2016, the project received recognition from the City of Zurich in the amount of CHF 10,000.

In 2017 Julia Weber's debut novel Immer ist alles schön was published by Limmat Verlag . In the same year, the novel received the international Franz Tumler Literature Prize and was also nominated for the Klaus Michael Kühne Prize and the Swiss Book Prize 2017.
