Julian is a town in the south of the US state California near San Diego . According to the 2010 census, the city had 1502 inhabitants on an area of 20.5 km². Julian's mountain location attracts many tourists, and it is also known for its apple cultivation and the "apple pies" made from it. The place is now one of the historic landmarks of California (California Historical Landmark) . Julian is on California State Routes 78 and 79 .
