Juliana Gaviria Rendón (born March 31, 1991 in La Ceja , Antioquia ) is a Colombian track cyclist .
Athletic career
In 2012, the 1.65 meter tall Gaviria weighed in at a competition weight of 58 kg. In 2011 Juliana Gaviria and Diana María García finished second in the team sprint at the Pan American Championships , and the following year the two athletes finished third. At the Pan American Games in 2011 , she finished 4th in the sprint.
In 2012 Gaviria started at the Olympic Games in London and together with Diana Maria García finished tenth in the team sprint. In the Keirin she was eliminated in the first round. In 2013 she won the gold medal in the team sprint at the Pan American Championships in Aguascalientes , together with Martha Bayona .
In 2016 Juliana Gaviria was nominated for participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and finished 24th in the sprint. In the same year she won three medals at the Pan American Championships, one silver in the keirin and one in the team sprint (with Martha Bayona ) and bronze in the Time trial.
Gaviria then interrupted her cycling career because of her pregnancy, and in 2019 she returned to cycling. In 2019 she won a bronze medal in the team sprint at the Pan American Games (with Martha Bayona ) and at the Pan American Championships (with Diana María García ).
family
Juliana Gaviria is an older sister of the cyclist Fernando Gaviria and is trained by John Jaime Gonzalez . She is married to the cyclist Fabián Puerta . In 2017 the couple became parents of one child.
