Juliana de Aquino

Juliana Ferreira Braga de Aquino (born August 5, 1980 in Brasília , † June 1, 2009 in the Atlantic Ocean ) was a Brazilian musical performer who died on the night of May 31 to June 1 when Air France flight 447 crashed was killed in the Atlantic.

Life

Ferreira Braga de Aquino began her musical education at the age of four. She studied piano at the Instituto de Música do Distrito Federal and classical singing and opera at the University of Brasília . She also won a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music in Boston. She took part in singing workshops with Richard Lissemore and acting workshops with Steve Markusfeld. She was on stage for the first time in Brazil, in the plays Fame and Carmen and as a soloist on the Disney Songs show .

In 2001 she made an appearance for Pope John Paul II in the Vatican . Then followed (again in Brazil) roles like the page in Rigoletto . She played Mother Abbes in The Sound of Music .

At the age of 15 she made her debut as a solo artist and in 2001 her solo CD Primeora Vez came out.

In 2003 she came to Hamburg , where she got an engagement in the musical The Lion King . She was seen for four years as swing and as the second cast of Shenzi before she took on the role of Maria Magdalena in Jesus Christ Superstar in Klagenfurt in 2008 . Her last engagement was in 2009 with the Stuttgart production of Wicked - Die Hexen von Oz , where she was seen in the ensemble and as the second cast of Madame Akaber.
