Julie Stevens (born December 20, 1936 in Prestwich , England ) is an English actress .
Life
Stevens trained as a nurse before she got into television. She began her training at the British broadcaster ABC in 1957. In preparation for her acting requirements, she also spent a season at the Ryde Theater , Isle of Wight .
The training there resulted in a casting for the role of Venus Smith in the television series Mit Schirm, Charme und Melone , which was to appear in the second season of the series alternately with Cathy Gale ( Honor Blackman ) as a partner of John Steed . The role of Venus Smith was laid out as a nightclub and jazz singer, so that Julie Stevens had at least one vocal appearance in each of the episodes. Due to a lack of audience feedback, however, the role was dropped after six episodes.
Stevens then starred in other television series, but she became known in Great Britain primarily for her work as a presenter of children's programs, such as B. the series Play School or Playaway . In the 1950s and 1960s she also hosted The Sunday Break , a religious program for teenagers.
