Julie Pauline Wieth (born November 13, 1960 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish actress , director and storyteller.

Life

In 1967 she made her film debut in a child role in Far laver sovsen . She made her television debut in 1975 when she appeared in a film adaptation of the Strindberg drama Brandtomten on the state broadcaster DR . Julie Pauline Wieth graduated from the Danish Theater School ( Statens Teaterskole ) in 1985 and the Danish Film School ( Statens Filmskole ) in 1989 . She performed in large Danish houses across the country. In Copenhagen these included the Betty Nansen Theater and the Volkstheater (Folketeatret). Julie Pauline Wieth also appeared in several television series. In Riget , Lars von Trier's series about the Copenhagen hospital of the same name , she played a supporting role as a pediatric nurse . She also made a brief appearance in Von Trier's dogma film Die Idioten ( Idioterne ).

In 2002 she made her debut as a director . In collaboration with the Danish actor Claes Bang , she staged the monologue Ondskaben (Das Böse) in the Aalborg Theater. In 2016 the play was performed at the Volkstheater in Copenhagen, the English translation in Johannesburg (2014) and London (2015).

In 2009 she had her last stage appearance as an actress.

Julie Wieth is the daughter of the acting couple Lily Weiding and Mogens Wieth. From 1995 to 2003 she was married to the actor Morten Suurballe. The two have two children.
