Lily Weiding
Lily Weiding (born October 22, 1924 in Copenhagen - † June 15, 2021 ) was a Danish film and theater actress .
Career
Weiding took ballet lessons at an early age . In 1942 she made her debut in Frederiksberg at the Frederiksberg Teater (Camp X Aveny) as Emily in the play Vor By . From 1943 to 1945 she received training at Det kongelige Teater elevskole (School of the Royal Theater) and then worked for a few years at this theater.
From 1958 to 1966 she took on various engagements at the Riddersalen Theater and Det kongelige Teaters , where she appeared in various successful productions. Lily Weiding also appeared in several leading roles at the Odense Teater , Husets Teater , Bristol Music Centers Teater and Betty Nansen Teatret . She had great success as a stage actress in the drama American Buffalo , which premiered on November 23, 1975 at the Goodman Theater in Chicago and was awarded the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award , as well as being nominated for other awards. Weiding also played as an actress in many Danish film and television productions . She died in mid-June 2021 at the age of 96.

family
She was the daughter of the Danish bass player Paul Weiding and his wife Marie F. Gaarsdal.
In 1945 she married the actor Sigfred Johansen (1908–1953). After his death, she married actor Mogens Wieth (1919–1962), with whom she had two daughters, Xenia Wieth and the Danish actress Julie Wieth . From 1965 until his death in 2018, Lily Weiding lived with the actor Morten Grunwald ; they married in 1980. Their daughter Tanja Grunwald is also an actress.
