Julijana Matanović

Julijana Matanović (born April 6, 1959 in Gradačac , Socialist Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina , Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian writer of short stories and novels ( novelist ). She is also a professor at the University of Zagreb at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, where she teaches contemporary Croatian literature.

Life

She was born in Gradačac in 1959 and went to school in Đurđenovac . She later attended high school in Našice before enrolling at the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek , where she graduated in Yugoslav languages and literature in 1982 . In 1998 she received her doctorate at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zagreb with a dissertation called: Povijesni roman u hrvatskoj književnosti XX. stoljeća ( German  The historical novel of the 20th century in Croatian literature )

Her works have been translated into German, Hungarian, Serbian and Slovenian.
