The sawmill was later taken over by the Belgian company "Marchetti-Lamarche". High-quality Slavonian oak quickly attracted investors, so that the sawmill was operated since 1886 under the name "Neuschloß, Schmidt and Marchetti", which was coined after the last names of the owners at the time. The development of the urban settlement ran parallel to the development of the industrial facilities of Đurđevac. Office and workers' housing, a health center, a primary school, a kindergarten, a public swimming pool, numerous office offices, shops, inns and a library were built to meet the needs of the workers and their families. At the end of the 19th century and until the 1930s, the majority of the population consisted of Germans and Hungarians.
