Juelsminde is a Danish port town with 3990 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) on the east coast of Jutland at the transition from the Little Belt to Samsø Bælt . It belongs to the Hedensted municipality in the Midtjylland region . Juelsminde forms its own parish ( Danish : Sogn ) Juelsminde Sogn . Until 1970 it belonged to Harde Bjerre Herred in what was then Vejle Office , after which Juelsminde became the administrative seat of its own Juelsminde municipality in the "new" Vejle Office , which became part of Hedensted Municipality on January 1, 2007 as part of the Danish administrative reform .
Attractions
Juelsminde is known for its beautiful bathing beaches and has a marina , which was expanded from 350 to 500 berths in 2011, which led to the election of the Danish “Port of the Year” in 2012.
The anchor of the frigate Jylland is in the middle of Juelsminde, as the ship itself used to be here. Today it is a museum ship in Ebeltoft .
traffic
In 1962 a ferry connection between the Juelsminde and Kalundborg lines was inaugurated. The company went bankrupt in 1985 and the association was dropped . From 1990 to 1996, another ferry connection between the two cities was operated by Mercandia Rederierne I / S under the name KattegatBroen .
