Julio Vila y Prades
Julio Vila y Prades (born April 9, 1873 in Valencia , Spain , † July 9, 1930 in Barcelona ) was a Spanish painter. He was a successful, well-traveled artist who became known for his costumbrian landscape and portrait paintings in the style of impressionist luminism . His bright, friendly-looking works were easy to understand by the public. He also made elegant bourgeois portraits, designed private and public spaces with frescoes and contributed to the iconography of South American history with historical pictures. He spent a significant part of his artistic life in Ibero America , where he introduced contemporary Spanish painting with his works and was enthusiastically received by the Spanish-born upper classes in many countries.
