Julius Christoph Georg Engelhard (* July 21, 1795 in Korbach ; † December 15, 1860 there ) was a German pharmacist and politician .

Engelhard was the son of the court director Heinrich Christoph Theodor Engelhard and his wife Anna Eleonore nee Huge. His first marriage was Marianne Friederike Auguste Strube (a niece of his studmother) from Dorfitter on August 13, 1820 in Korbach. After the death of his first wife in childbed on May 1, 1821, he married the sister of the first woman, Johanna Wilhelmine Florentine Strube, on April 28, 1822 in Korbach.

The father's first marriage was Johanette Christiane Strube, the daughter of the mayor of Korbach, Otto Michael Strube . The wife, however, was widow of the pharmacist Johann Simon Contzen and thus brought the Contzen pharmacy in Korbach into the marriage. Engelhard trained as a pharmacist until 1819 and had the old pharmacy torn down and a new building built on the same site, which was opened on January 21, 1821. The other two pharmacists in Korbach who questioned the correct authorization were brought against this pharmacy. On December 13, 1827, the Arolsen court dismissed the action. In 1836 Engelhard sold the pharmacy to competitors who then closed the pharmacy. The building was used by the parish of St. Kilian, burned down in the 1870s and was not rebuilt. Today the war memorial is located in its place.

From 1844 he was the cashier of the Korbacher Sparkasse . From 1840 to 1842, 1848 to 1849 and 1850 to 1853 he was mayor of Korbach. From 1949 to 1851 he was a member of the state parliament of the Principality of Waldeck-Pyrmont for the VI electoral district . As a representative of the city of Korbach, he had already belonged to the old estates.
