Julius Morkūnas

Julius Morkūnas (* 1978 ) is a Lithuanian administrative lawyer and politician , vice minister in the cabinet of Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1996 at the 49th Kaunas Middle School , Morkūnas studied from 1996 to 1997 at the Lietuvos policijos akademija . From 1997 to 1998 he was a policeman with the Lithuanian Police in Kaunas Township . From 1998 to 2002 he completed his bachelor's degree and in 2002 his master's degree in law at the Lietuvos teisės universitetas in Vilnius .

2002-2003 Morkūnas worked at Valstybės sienos apsaugos tarnyba in Pavoverė in the district of Vilnius . From 2003 to 2005 he was a policeman in the Vilnius Police Department . From 2007 to 2011 he taught as a lecturer at the International School of Law and Economics in Vilnius . After that, until December 2014, Morkūnas headed the Administrative Department and Deputy Director of the Safe City Department of the Vilnius Municipality Administration . Since December 12, 2014 he has been Deputy Minister of the Interior of Lithuania , Saulius Skvernelis ' deputy in the Butkevičius cabinet .

Morkūnas is a member of the “ Tvarka ir teisingumas ” party .
