Julius Vogel

Karl Julius Vogel (born May 4, 1862 in Penig , Saxony , † August 31, 1927 in Leipzig ) was a German art historian .

Julius Vogel attended the Nicolaischule in Leipzig and studied at the universities of Leipzig and Munich . In 1885 he received his doctorate with Johannes Overbeck in Leipzig with an archaeological thesis. From 1912 to 1924 he was director of the Museum of Fine Arts in Leipzig.
