Jump Cut magazine

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Jump Cut Magazine was a German-language online film magazine .

It was founded in 1998 by Ekkehard Knörer and offered current film reviews , texts on cinema classics , geographical focuses and focuses on close relatives such as theater , art or literature , interviews, information on DVDs and film festivals and background information on directors .

The content of Jump Cut magazine was contributed by well-known film critics . The publication was therefore highly regarded, not least in academic circles. Often criticized weak point, however, was the very confusing design. For this reason, the magazine was only mentioned "praiseworthy" by the nomination committee for the Grimme Prize 2004. Although Jump Cut was convincing in terms of content, there was no nomination due to the deficiencies in terms of structure and navigation.

Jump Cut magazine no longer exists since 2008. At the still existing web address, reference is now made to the online presence of the film magazine Cargo .
