Significance of the young parties
Political orientation of the young parties
Although the young parties are dependent on the support of the parent party , they are free to choose their own political orientation independently. However, most members of a young party are also members of the parent party, which means that the opportunities for political participation or participation as candidates in elections are greater. Jung parties in Switzerland are by regional sections organized
In election campaigns , the cantonal and municipal sections of the young parties usually try to draw up their own lists , which are, however , linked to the list of the parent party. Their election campaigns are financed by the parent parties. In this case, the main considerations of the parent parties are that the campaign of the young party, which is focused on the young voters, can win additional votes from undeveloped electoral segments .
Perception in society
Since young parties do not have as many members and a lower degree of organization than their parent parties or other large organizations (e.g. trade unions , associations ), their realpolitical and social significance is with exceptions rather low. They therefore try to set the political agenda and the attention of society with eye-catching actions and controversial issues. Examples of this are provocative videos or street actions.
