Juozas Galginaitis

Juozas Galginaitis (born May 4, 1958 in Yenisisk Raion , Krasnoyarsk Region , Soviet Union ) is a Lithuanian lawyer , legal scholar, former politician, Deputy Minister of the Interior of Lithuania and diplomat .

Life

In 1981 Juozas Galginaitis graduated from the Law Faculty of Vilnius University with a degree in law . On December 21, 1988 he did his doctorate at the Union Institute for Scientific Research of the Soviet Laws (USSR) on the candidate of law on the subject of " Legal Theoretic Problems of the Creation of Automated Information Systems for Law Searches " (lit. Įstatymų paieškos automatizuotų informacinių sistemų kūrimo teorinės teisinės problemos ).

In 1991 he did an internship at the Lower Saxony Ministry of Justice . In 2003 he was a visiting professor at the Institute for Eastern Law at the University of Kiel (subject: " Law in the Baltic Sea Area" ), " Eastern European Studies" and "Eastern European Law". In 2003 he taught the introduction to the legal system of Lithuania as well as the Bolck seminar on Lithuanian law in Noer Castle near Kiel. In 2005 he continued his education at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main .

From 1991 to 1992 he was director of the Institute of Law , from 1992 to 1993 Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Police Academy of Lithuania , from 1993 to 1999 diplomat in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania , advisor to the Lithuanian embassy in Germany , head of the Berlin department .

From 1999 to 2001 he was Deputy Minister of the Interior of Lithuania .

From 2001 to 2004 he was lecturer at VU Tarptautinio verslo mokykla (TVM), lecturer (since 2002), and from 2001 lecturer and lecturer at the Faculty of Law at Vilnius University since 2002, from 2003 to 2007 head of the Chair of Legal Theory and Legal History, Vice Dean of Faculty department for face-to-face studies. From 2007 he is Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at the university.
