Jupiter One is an indie rock band from Brooklyn , New York. It was founded in 2003 by musicians friends K Ishibashi and Zac Colwell. Their style is mainly reminiscent of Gang of Four and Talking Heads .

history

founding

The violin player Ishibashi and the enthusiastic woodwind instrument player Colwell met on a tour in the United States in 2000. Since the two immediately showed interest in each other's activities, the duo moved from Colwell's hometown of Austin to New York in 2003 to play as Jupiter One. Shortly thereafter, Ishibashi sought contact with his former love affair, Mocha, accepted them into the band and finally even married the Japanese. David Heilmann joined as drummer. The name was based on the spaceship Jupiter 2 from the series Lost Between Alien Worlds .

Career

In the summer of 2008, Jupiter One's first studio album of the same name was released in Europe, in the USA earlier in 2005. Although they initially only wanted to produce the rock sound with synthesizers , they ultimately occupied themselves with two guitars and only three synthesizers to make the music more Owns timbre. In 2009 her second album Sunshower was released .
