Yuri Nikolayevich Afanassjew
Yuri Nikolajewitsch Afanassjew ( Russian Ю́рий Никола́евич Афана́сьев ; born September 5, 1934 in Maina , Ulyanovsk Oblast , Soviet Union ; † September 14, 2015 in Moscow ) was a Soviet and Russian historian and politician.
biography
Afanassjew graduated from Moscow State University (MGU) with a degree in history in 1957 . He stayed at the Sorbonne twice - in 1971 and 1976 . Afanasiev was a doctor of historical sciences, professor, academic, and a member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences ( RANW ). Afanasiev worked as a research assistant in the Foreign Cultural History Department at the Institute of General History of the USSR, as an editor for history and a member of the editorial board of the journal «Communist». Afanasiev was the rector of the Moscow Historical-Archival Institute and the founder and rector of the Russian State University for the Humanities (RGGU).
He was a functionary of the Komsomol and the pioneers . From 1954 to 1991 he was a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union . In 1989 he was in Noginsker constituency in Moscow Oblast for people's deputies voted the USSR. He was a member of the national deputy group. In 1990 he was a member of the “Civil Action” group and co-chair of the “Democratic Russia” party. He was also a participant in the "Democratic Congress" in 1991.
His academic interests were the history of historical sciences, French historiography, the Annales school , the history of Russia, theoretical and methodological foundations of the history of science, political science, philosophy of education, including new educational methods and educational technologies.
Afanassjew is the originator of the phrase “aggressive-obedient majority”, which was the first time he referred to some members of the first session of the People's Deputies of the USSR in the Kremlin in 1989.
