Juris Silovs (athlete)

Juris Silovs ( Russian Юрий Викентьевич Силов ; born August 30, 1950 in Krāslava ; † September 28, 2018 ) was a Latvian sprinter who started for the Soviet Union .

In 1972 he won silver in the 4 x 100 meter relay with the Soviet team at the Olympic Games in Munich .

He won over 100 m at the Universiade in 1973 and was fourth at the European Athletics Championships in Rome in 1974 .

At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, he was eliminated over 100 m in the preliminary run. In the 4 x 100 meter relay, he won bronze with the Soviet quartet.
