Justin H. Min

Justin Hongkee Min (born May 2, 1990 ) is an American actor . He gained fame primarily through the role of Ben Hargreeves from the series The Umbrella Academy .

life and career

Justin H. Min was born into the second generation of Korean-born Americans in California, where he grew up in Cerritos . In addition to English, he speaks the Korean language fluently. During his school days he took part in speech competitions across the country. After graduating from Cerritos High School in 2007, he studied Politics and English at Cornell University . During his time at the university, he and other fellow students campaigned for the university to receive a Korean degree in the field of international relations , with around five percent of university students being of Korean origin in 2010. He also works to represent actors of Asian descent in the acting industry. Before he could gain a foothold in the acting business, he first worked as a photographer and journalist. In the latter work for a number of local magazines. Photography is still one of Min's great passions.

Min took on his first role in front of the camera in the short film My Father in 2012 . After a while, he received guest roles on the series Faking It , CSI: Cyber and Pure Genius . In 2016 he was seen in a small role in the thriller Rebirth , which was published on the streaming provider Netflix . Also for a Netflix production, he was seen in a supporting role as Ben Hargreeves alias number 6 in the series The Umbrella Academy from 2019 . With the beginning of the second season he became part of the main cast. It was through this role that a larger audience first became aware of him. In 2019 he also starred as Cameron in the miniseries Dating After College .
