In 1980 she made her diploma in psychology.

From 1983 to 1985 she was a student at Ebba Sakel, women's gallery “Other characters” in Berlin. From 1989–1993 she took courses at the Free Art School in Berlin and in 1993 found her medium as a visual artist, making paper , inspired by Carla Gänßler. From then on she worked as a freelance artist in Berlin. From 1999 to 2001, she also worked as a lecturer at the University of Hanover in the faculty of aesthetic education . Between 2002 and 2004 she accepted a teaching position at the Accademia libera natura e cultura in Querceto (Tuscany, Italy). There she gave courses in artistic paper making. She mainly deals with the field of tension between humans and nature. Jutta Barth works with pigmented paper pulp (pulp) and natural materials on the ladle. With painting, drawing, photography, assemblage and objects, the works of the group in the joint exhibitions encompass a broad spectrum of contemporary abstract art.
