Jutta Susanne Eckstein (born February 28, 1965 in Reutlingen ) is a German specialist in agility , especially agile software development using Extreme Programming , Scrum and the like. Ä.

life and work

After graduating from the Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium in Pfullingen , Eckstein completed specialist teacher training from 1983 to 1987 with a BA at the pedagogical specialist seminar in Kirchheim unter Teck . From 1988 to 1992 she studied product engineering at Furtwangen University . Since studying at the Euro-FH Hamburg from 2011 to 2013 , she has been an M.Sc. in business coaching and change management .

Jutta Eckstein has been working as a consultant and change manager in the implementation of agile processes in medium to large and distributed projects since the 1990s. In addition to the books, book chapters and conference papers she wrote on the subject of agility, she is a member of program committees of various European and American conferences on the subjects of agile procedures, object orientation as well as refactoring and patterns . So she leads z. B. the program committee of the OOP conference for object-oriented programming that has been taking place in Munich since 1992 , the German “industry meeting of software developers”, and the “Conference on Agile Software Development” (XP). From 2003 to 2007 she acted as deputy director of the Agile Alliance , a community of software specialists with around 4000 members (2007) with the aim of promoting agile methods in the software industry . She has headed the Agile Alliance's speaker compensation program since 2007. As a specialist author she is u. a. currently working for IT . At heise online , she runs a blog under the name “The World of IT” in the developer section .

In 2011, the trade journal Computerwoche ranked Eckstein 87th in the top 100 of the most important personalities in the German ITC landscape. The criteria for inclusion on the list included a. Weight of the voice in the industry, visionary, special merits, individual professional performance and likely future role.
