Jutta Schütt

Jutta Schütt (born May 6, 1955 in Hamburg ; † October 15, 2016 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German art historian . She was the director of the graphic collection of the Städel Art Institute in Frankfurt am Main.

life and work

Schütt majored in art history at the University of Hamburg , which she completed with a dissertation on the subject of “Rainer faciebat. Concluding on the revision processes in the Arnulf Rainers plant ”1993. From 1994 Schütt worked as a trainee at the Städel Museum and then as a research assistant in the graphic collection . In 2001 she became the director of Margret Stuffmann as the successor . She looked after the collection from 1750 to the present day. Schütt curated numerous exhibitions at the Städel and expanded the graphic collection by around 1,000 sheets over the past 15 years.

In 2011 Schütt was elected a member of the Scientific Society at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . She was a longstanding board member of the Dagmar Westberg Foundation .
