Jyske Ås

Jyske Ås is a ridge on the Danish island of Vendsyssel-Thy in North Jutland .

location

The landscape extends from Dronninglund about 25 km northwest to Østervrå . The ridge touches Dronninglund Storskov and Allerup Bakker , where the over 100 meter high hills Storstensbakken , Voldene and Skelbakken are located. It continues through Pajhede Skov with the 112 meter high Søhedens Bakke .

The highest point is Knøsen , a hill about 136 meters high that lies in Dronninglund Storskov .

Jyske Ås is criss-crossed by marked cycling and hiking trails. Simple campsites offer overnight accommodation .

Three larger rivers have their source in the eastern part of Jerslev Sogn : Vorsaa , which flows into the Kattegat , Uggerby Å , which flows north and flows into the North Sea and Ryå , which flows west of Nørresundby into the Limfjord after a meandering course .

In the forest area Lunken in Pajhede Skov registered over 250 different flowering plants, including wood anemone (Anemone), Seven Star , Polypodium and marsh cinquefoil . Grass , heather , blueberries and juniper grow on the old meadows .

fauna

There are strong populations of roe deer , badgers , squirrels , green woodpeckers , crested tits , coal tits, and golden grouse .
