Østervrå is a Danish town with 1302 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the north of Denmark. The village is located in the former independent church district of the same name, Østervrå, which was converted into the parish ( Østervrå Sogn ) on October 1st . Until 1970 the church district belonged to Harde Dronninglund Herred in what was then Hjørring Amt , with the dissolution of the Harden structure, the church district was included in the municipality of Sæby in the newly established North Jutland office , the municipality in turn went with the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 with other municipalities in the expanded Municipality of Frederikshavn , which belongs to the Nordjylland region.
Østervrå is about 15 kilometers west of Sæby and about 18 kilometers northeast of Brønderslev .
