Aalbæk Kirke
The village church in the center of the village was designed in 1897 by the architect Vilhelm Ahlmann (1852–1928). He had already delivered the design for the Frederikshavn Kirke . Aalbæk Kirke is designed in the same eclectic and national romantic style as Ahlmann's later Holstebro Kirke . During a comprehensive renovation of the interior in 1997, the ceiling, pulpit and church stalls were painted in maritime blue.
It was built as a branch church to Raabjerg Kirke , 6 km away , after Aalbæk's population had grown significantly due to the connection to the railway network. In the churchyard there are numerous graves of fishermen who fell victim to sea mines in the Second World War .
