Kärholz is a German rock group from Ruppichteroth . The band combines elements from rock, punk and indie as well as influences from rock 'n' roll . She only uses German lyrics in her songs.

history

In 2003 Torben Höffgen, Adrian Kühn, Stefan Wirths and Christian Steffens founded the band Kärbholz. The band as well as the fans call the music “full throttle rock'n'roll” (excerpt from the song “Vollgas Rock'n'Roll” “... are a full throttle rock'n'roll band, even if we are the world doesn't know ... ").

Karbholz left the path of playing songs from their musical influences, so that in spring 2006 the split CD "Heimvorteil" was released. The quartet was then offered a recording contract with the Magdeburg label " Asphalt Records ".

In April 2007 the debut album "Game of Life" was released . With the distribution of the debut, supraregional organizers also became aware of the group, and national appearances followed.

Lyrically things like friendship, love, hate or the like are discussed.

At the end of 2007, Kärbholz recorded the second long player "Zurück nach Vorn" , which was also released on Asphalt Records. The success of the album enabled the band to perform their first major concerts, such as B. on the " GOND " . In addition, the band decided at the end of 2008 to re-release the split EP "Heimvorteil" . This was released as an EP under the name "Vollgas Rock 'n' Roll" .

In mid-December 2008, drummer Christian left the band for professional and private reasons. He played his farewell concert at the traditional end-of-year concert by Krebsholz in Schönenberg . On January 5th, 2009 the new drummer Henning Münch was officially introduced, who had already given his first Kärholz concert in Schramberg on January 3rd .

In September 2009 the band completed a CD release tour with performances all over Germany. On this tour, the new album with the name "Mit Leib und Seele" was officially presented.

In 2010 Kärbholz again played concerts almost every week, including at the “GOND” , the “Ehrlich & Laut Festival” and at the traditional “Heimspiel” . In addition, from the end of October the band gave a small tour of Germany with eight concerts, on which the single "Du bist König" was presented. The album for the single "100%" also made it into the charts for the first time.

In 2012 he switched to the " Betontod -Label" Better Than Hell and in 2013 released the album Rastlos, which reached number 16 in the charts. The restless tour that followed was almost completely sold out. The band describes their appearance at the Wacken Open Air as a highlight .

On January 30, 2015, the eighth studio album Karma was released. With this, the band was able to achieve a chart placement in Switzerland and Austria for the first time. The album sold over 20,000 times. Karma Live was released on CD / DVD on October 9th .

The ninth studio album Überdosis Leben , released on January 27, 2017, reached number 2 in the German album charts in the first week.
